Smart Communications is undertaking important systems changes in 2017. Please review the information below about two important changes we will make to our SaaS service. Customers should visit our Community Site to learn more about the changes.
Smart Communications: Transitioning to A New Domain
As a major step in the transition of Smart Communications to an independent company, Smart Communications is moving its SaaS service from the thunderhead.com domain name to a new smartcommunications.cloud domain. We chose this new domain for our SaaS service as it reflects the brand and trading name of our newly-independent business while emphasizing the market-differentiating cloud aspect of our solution. Your migration to the new service configuration must be completed before 8am BST, 27th May 2017 to retain continuity of service.
TLS 1.0: Disabled for Smart Communications
Like many other cloud software providers, we are also taking this opportunity to disable the TLS 1.0 security protocol as it is considered insecure. You will need to upgrade to use TLS 1.1 or TLS 1.2 to ensure that you can securely connect to Smart Communications after it is disabled. The TLS 1.0 disablement change is aligned with the domain change above, so that when you move to smartcommunications.cloud, you will also work on the new TLS 1.1+ standard.
Learn More: Technical Bulletin
To ensure our customers can prepare for these changes, Smart Communications has produced a detailed technical bulletin which is available to customers on our Customer Community portal. This can be accessed from the following link where it is also possible for first-time users to register to access the Community.
